  • Stone Bowl Korean – A South Asheville Favorite That Never Misses Stone Bowl Korean in South Asheville continues to prove why it’s easily one of the absolute best places to eat in the area. Every single time we visit, the experience is flawless — and our most recent trip was no exception. We stopped in the other day, and everything was beyond amazing. From the rich, savory flavors of their dishes to the comforting atmosphere, it’s clear the passion and care that goes into every plate. The ingredients are always fresh, the portions generous, and the flavors authentic and unforgettable. It was also incredibly heartwarming to see the team thriving and smiling after everything they endured with the hurricane. Their resilience shows not just in the service, but in the spirit of the restaurant itself — strong, welcoming, and full of life. If you’re in South Asheville and you haven’t been to Stone Bowl yet, you’re truly missing out. It's a place that feels like home and delivers outstanding food time after time. An absolute must-visit — and a spot we’ll continue to come back to again and again!

  • The vegetable sides are great lots of flavor. The stone bowls are great, definitely recommend using the red sauce in the bowl and the bulgogi is one of my favorites to order

  • Delicious food with quick, friendly service. I ordered the pork man du (dumplings) and the jab chae noodle dish. The man du were pan seared and had great flavor and a tasty dipping sauce. The jab chae was clear sweet potato based noodles and had vegetables and beef stir fried in with them with a light soy based sauce. It was served with the standard pickled veggie, kimchi, and sweet potato side dishes. It's one of the only Korean restaurants in town but it represents well and I definitely recommend giving it a try.

  • A delightful place, excellent service, and good prices. I had some dumplings and for the main dish, the Kan Pu Gi chicken. To drink, a Japanese Kirin Ichiban beer. Both dishes were spectacular!

  • Arrived around 5:45pm on a Saturday. No wait for a table. We sat outside because the weather was lovely. 4/5 stars for atmosphere only because the outside is right next to where cars turn into the lot so it could be a bit noisy. 5/5 for service that was fast and friendly. Not to mention our food, it came out so quick! 5/5 for the Bul Go Gi stone bowl. I requested my egg be cooked well done and it was accommodated. The FRESHNESS of all the vegetables in the stone bowl was amazing. It didn’t taste like these were frozen veggies just heated up. The Bang Bang Shrimp was also delicious and well cooked - not rubbery or chewy. I enjoyed the Barley Tea (hot) and it was very calming and soothing. Unfortunately I couldn’t get any of the boba drinks because all of them are premade with milk. Everything was reasonably priced for the amount of food we got and the delicious flavor. We will be back!

  • This place is a real gem. My wife and I love Korean food and Stone Bowl did not let us down. The portions were very hearty and a great waitstaff made this New Year's Eve supper a memorable one!

  • [UPDATE, 11/7/2025, 12:00 PM EST: Below is our initial vacation encounter. Stone Bowl left such a positive impression that we visited one last time to split a salmon stone bowl before heading home to Kentucky. We deemed it the best use of $20 in Asheville and can easily see ourselves repeating should we ever find ourselves in the area again.] No leftovers. No regrets. We ordered the namesake in salmon and seafood varieties with hot sauce on the side. The house sides were enjoyable but the bowls themselves set a high standard that I fear other Korean restaurants may find difficult to follow, which is bittersweet as we don’t live near Asheville (on vacation). The crispy rice on the bottom of the bowl was perfect. Before I had even finished, I was already feeling out the wife’s willingness to return for some bul go gi later this week. As extremely nice bonuses, the wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was warm yet casual. I also appreciated how easily Stone Bowl could accommodate my gluten-free wife. We both left extremely satisfied without feeling overfed. The highly balanced and medicinal food left us both feeling better than how we arrived. Stone Bowl is definitely a feather in Asheville’s cap.
